Bookmark and Share Durham, NC - February 01, 2016 -

Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), a local benefits and consulting firm, will host a free educational seminar on Thursday, February 18th, at their Durham office, located at 4819 Emperor Blvd. This program, a part of HCW’s Employee Benefits Ready series, will focus on the extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting deadlines. The extension offers employers the opportunity to review forms and make any necessary corrections before they are distributed to employees and filed with the IRS.

This program is designed for CFOs, CEOs and business owners. Some familiarity with the employee benefits field is advised.

HCW’s compliance advisors, Katharine Marshall, JD and Lindsey Surratt, JD, will provide instructions, examples, and answer specific questions regarding how to complete the required forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C and 1095-C. Attendees will learn the nuances of the forms and the required codes, enabling them to ensure the forms they are responsible for are complete and accurate.

This free seminar is accredited by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) for 2.00 hours of CPE credit. It is also accredited by the HR Certification Institute for 2.00 general credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification and 2.00 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the presentation beginning at 9:00 a.m. It will close with a question and answer session, wrapping up at 11:30 a.m. For more information or to register, visit http://info.hcw-events.com/2016EBRTriangle1.

“Our Greensboro session was so coveted that we are offering another one in our Durham office for business owners in the Triangle,” said Todd Yates, HCW partner and CEO. “The recent extension of the ACA reporting deadlines allows for a unique last-minute chance to review your forms. Avoid the headache you may face down the road by learning everything your employees or clients need to know about ACA reporting.”
