He and his family started the tournament because lupus because of his two daughters who are living with lupus. Links for Lupus was the first major fundraising event for the chapter. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $500,000 for the LFANC.

“We are excited to celebrate the sixteenth annual Links for Lupus golf tournament, which brings the community together for a day of fun while supporting our mission,” said Christine John-Fuller, President and CEO of LFANC. “We appreciate the generous support of LITTLE, other sponsors and our event participants. This event enables us to help link up awareness about lupus while raising funds for research, programs and support services to help the estimated 10,000 people living with lupus in the Charlotte region.”

About Lupus:

Lupus is an unpredictable and misunderstood autoimmune disease that ravages different parts of the body. It is difficult to diagnose, hard to live with, and a challenge to treat. Lupus is a cruel mystery because it is hidden from view and undefined, has a range of symptoms, hits out of nowhere, and has no known cause and no known cure. Its health effects can range from a skin rash to a heart attack. Lupus is debilitating and destructive, and can be fatal, yet research on lupus remains underfunded relative to its scope and devastation.
