24 Hours of Booty today announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) and Queens University of Charlotte (Queens) for venue support of this year’s cycling event. Myers Park Traditional School will again serve as the host site for the 13th Annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute on July 25-26.

During the event’s 12-year history, more than 11,000 riders have raised more than $10 million to support cancer survivorship and navigation programs. Funds raised support organizations such as the Levine Cancer Institute (The Institute), the Brain Tumor Fund of the Carolinas, Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreats, and the LIVESTRONG Foundation. As part of its mission to fund cancer survivorship and navigation programs, 24 Hours of Booty made a $1 million commitment to Carolinas HealthCare System’s Levine Cancer Institute to support the Institute’s Genetics, Survivorship, and Wellness Centers.

“Not only does one of our schools serve as the host venue for 24 Hours of Booty, but several of our faculty and students across our district are involved as riders and volunteers. This organization has become an invaluable part of our community because of all the people it has helped. We are pleased to provide the host venue and to be part of such an amazing effort to help fight cancer right here in Charlotte,” said Guy Chamberlain, associate superintendent for auxiliary services, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Adds Rebecca Anderson, vice president for marketing, strategy and communications at Queens, “A true Charlotte original, this is a terrific event that’s had a profound impact on our city and region. We are proud to support 24 Hours of Booty and the Levine Cancer Institute and look forward to another terrific ride this year.”

The annual non-competitive cycling event brings together teams and families of all ages and cycling abilities who raise money for cancer charities. This year’s ride will roll on Charlotte’s famous “Booty Loop” in Myers Park neighborhood from 7:00PM Friday, July 25 to 7:00PM Saturday, July 26, 2014. To safely accommodate riders on the 3-mile closed course, event registration will be capped at the first 1,200 registrants. Funds raised support local and national cancer charities. "I am continually inspired by the growth, support and accomplishments of the event since launching the first 24 Hours of Booty as a solo rider. We are thrilled that Myers Park Traditional School once again serves as home to Bootyville, which is the true heart and soul of the event," said Spencer Lueders, founder of 24 Hours of Booty. "Our long-standing partnerships with Queens, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, the Myers Park neighborhood and other supporters are what make this event a huge success and enable us to help fund cancer survivorship and navigation programs at Levine Cancer Institute."
