A Sex Scandal, Blackmail, Revenge, Bankruptcy -- In Russ Dymond's New Novel, Things Aren't Going Well At A Certain Charlotte Ad Agency

When Russ Dymond decided to write a novel, he chose a topic he knows well -- advertising-- and a setting with which he is very familiar -- Charlotte.

A 42-year veteran of the advertising business, Dymond worked at some of the Southeast’s top agencies as a copywriter, creative director and agency owner. He retired from Sterrett-Dymond Advertising in 2008. All that experience (mixed with plenty of imagination) shows up in the plot and characters of Luke’s Way.

Set against the background of the Great Recession, Luke’s Way is the story of Luke Hunter’s struggle to save his failing advertising agency. F&H Advertising is down to one client, Cascading Falls Resort. If it goes, the agency goes. When a buyer for the resort emerges, it looks as if all will be well. But the new owner turns out to be an enemy from Luke’s past who threatens to reveal a reputation-destroying secret unless Luke acquiesces to his demands.

“Luke is presented with a difficult choice,” Dymond says. “He has to decide whether to save the agency and all he has worked for, or to walk away from the agency and save what’s left of his integrity. Adding to the drama of that decision is a love story, a sex scandal, an ecological disaster, and more.”

Russ Dymond grew up in Asheville, N.C., and Savannah, Ga.. He is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in English and professional writing. He is the winner of multiple awards from major advertising creative competitions and was named “Best TV Copywriter in the Southeast” by Adweek Magazine. Luke’s Way is his first novel.

Published by the independent publisher Moonshine Cove Publishing, Luke’s Way is available in paperback and electronic editions at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. For more information, visit www.russdymond.com .
