Bailey’s Fine Jewelry Donates $50,000 to North Carolina Museum of Art to Support Art Education

RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 12, 2017) – Bailey’s Fine Jewelry recently donated $50,000 to the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) to support art education programs. The donation consisted of $25,000 from proceeds raised at a special David Yurman event hosted by the company and a $25,000 match from Bailey’s Fine Jewelry.

On Oct. 21, Bailey’s Fine Jewelry hosted world-renowned jewelry designer David Yurman in its Cameron Village store. Guests were invited to preview the latest jewelry collections and meet the designer himself, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the North Carolina Museum of Art. Approximately 300 guests attended the event and $25,000 was raised for NCMA.

The timing of the event worked well alongside the Museum’s latest exhibition which focuses on fashion.

“In a year we’re celebrating design and glamour at special exhibition Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair, this event was a fun and timely partnership,” said Lawrence J. Wheeler, Museum director. “Donations like this make it possible for the NCMA to serve more people through more educational programs, and we are so appreciative of this gift from Bailey’s.”

The team at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry was thrilled with the money raised for the Museum from the David Yurman event and wanted to further increase the impact of the donation with a match from the company.

“We’re so fortunate to work and live in a community that values the arts so highly,” said Trey Bailey of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. “Giving back is a cornerstone of our company and to be able to donate to an organization like the North Carolina Museum of Art that is consistently creating engaging exhibits and investing in art education is very rewarding for us.”

Bailey presented Wheeler the donation in a check presentation at the Museum.
