Band Together NC Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced the addition of four new advisory board members.

The newly-inducted board members include:

• John Addeo, vice president of global business development, Dimension Data

• Gregg Davis, COO, FLAG Therapeutics

• Tracy Davis, community development, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, EDNC

• Peter Schmitt, vice president of finance, Nomacorc, LLC

“We are excited to welcome these new members to the advisory board,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “As we continue to raise the bar, we know that their passion and dedication will serve us exceptionally well.”

These new members will serve alongside 35 business and community leaders on Band Together’s advisory board. During their three year-term, advisory board members’ responsibilities include annual-and long-term fundraising as well as giving feedback and advice to the Band Together Board of Directors.

The 2013 Band Together event helped raise more than $860,000 for Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and since its inception in 2001, Band Together has donated almost $3 million to local nonprofits. Band Together has now partnered with two nonprofit organizations, Communities In Schools of Wake County and Communities In Schools of Durham for its 2014 concert event on May 3 at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre. This year, Band Together has set a goal of $1 million.

Past nonprofit partners have included Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Urban Ministries of Wake County, Alliance Medical Ministry, StepUp Ministry, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, SAFEChild, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and more.
