Bobbitt Design Build – the Carolinas’ most experienced commercial contractor specializing in design build – is proud to announce its 70th anniversary. Headquartered at 600 Germantown Road in Raleigh, the 100 percent employee-owned architectural, engineering and construction firm will honor this special occasion by launching a “Bobbitt Gives Back” philanthropic program.

“The ‘Bobbitt Gives Back’ program was created to reflect on Bobbitt’s rich history and recognize the incredible support the community has given to us over the decades,” said company president Jim Bell. “Thanks to our clients, friends and neighbors, our company has not only prospered in great economic times but overcome the challenges of multiple recessions. We want to express our gratitude by giving back to local organizations that benefit people right here.”

Bobbitt’s employee owners selected charities that will be the program’s focus for the duration of 2016. The charities were chosen based on either their impact in the community or an employee’s personal experience. The nonprofits fall into the following categories: children, elderly, environmental, food insecurity, homelessness, "help up" charities, medical, mental health awareness, animal welfare, and veterans.

In 1946, G.E. Bobbitt founded the Raleigh-based construction firm and became one of the first “Butler Builders” for Butler Manufacturing Company. Long before design build became an industry-wide buzzword, G.E. Bobbitt & Associates was coordinating and managing all the services associated with successful building projects – from site selection to civil engineering, architectural design to navigating the municipal planning and approval process, all the way through to the end-product construction – all under the same roof, from the same source.
