Bobbitt Design Build partnered again this year with NAI Carolantic to sponsor the 31st Annual Triangle Commercial Real Estate Conference. The conference, themed “A Modern Renaissance,” was held on Jan. 22 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh.

Jimmy Barnes, President of NAI Carolantic, delivered a recap of commercial real estate market activity in 2015 and offered guarded but positive predictions for the coming year.

Sarah Quinlan, Senior Vice President of Market Insights for MasterCard Advisors, delivered a keynote address stating that consumer spending, not the stock market, accurately reflects the health of the U.S. economy, and spending is strong and trending upward.

“The experiential spending economy is here to stay,” stated Quinlan who is widely sought for her expertise by executives across retail, banking, capital markets and government agencies. “We need to make Raleigh a destination.”

The conference was a gathering of more than 1,800 Triangle business and community leaders, including Governor Pat McCrory, and is the largest real estate event of its kind in the region. The conference is produced each year by NAI Carolantic, and Bobbitt was one of seven companies that sponsored the 2016 event.
