CinéBistro at Waverly Place Announces New GM and Executive Chef

Russo and Bianco to Launch New “Dinner-and-a-Movie” Concept in Cary

Cobb Theatres, developers of the world-class CinéBistro “dinner-and-a-movie” destinations, has announced that Jim Russo has been hired as general manager of CinéBistro at Waverly Place, and Jason Bianco has been hired as executive chef. When fully operational, the location at 525 New Waverly Place, #101 in Cary is expected to employ more than 60 staff members.

Russo has more than 18 years of experience in the food industry, and most recently served as managing partner with Bravo/Brio Restaurant Group. In this capacity, he opened five new locations across the country, and trained general managers and executive chefs. His professional accolades include twice winning GM of the year in the 75-unit BBRG company, as well as winning the Outstanding Service Award for all Bravo brand restaurants. Russo earned his Associate in Culinary Arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America.

Bianco joins CinéBistro at Waverly Place from Morton’s Steakhouse in Coral Gables, Florida, where he served as executive chef. He has also served as executive chef and sous chef at The Palm restaurants in Dallas and Orlando. His career also includes stints at Fulton’s Crab House in Orlando and The Peabody Orlando. Bianco is a magna cum laude graduate of the Orlando Culinary Academy with an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts degree. He has won the Peabody Rookie of the Year Award, Peabody Golden Duck Award, and Employee of the Year Award at The Palm Orlando.

CinéBistro offers patrons Movies with Taste® via a luxurious experience featuring a chef-run kitchen offering creative American Bistro cuisine and full in-theatre service. CinéBistro at Waverly Place will also offer an indoor/outdoor bar and dining area serving fine wines, extensive draft and bottled beers, and signature cocktails available to patrons who may or may not be viewing a movie.
