Real estate company partners with Butterball, LLC to distribute turkeys to non-profits and military organizations during the holidays

Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston, the leading real estate company in the Triangle, will proudly distribute 4,000 frozen turkeys to more than 100 local non-profits and active military and veterans organizations this holiday season through its annual Turkeys for the Triangle program. A valued Turkeys for the Triangle partner of four years, Butterball, LLC will generously donate 1,500 of the turkeys to be handed out to food-insecure families.

Turkeys for the Triangle

In operation for nearly 15 years, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston’s Turkeys for the Triangle program is a collective effort of the company’s 900 agents and staff who sell raffle tickets during the holiday season to raise money to fund the purchase of the birds. To date, Turkeys for the Triangle has donated over 28,000 turkeys to anchor holiday meals for more than 120,000 people.

“It breaks my heart to know that there are families in our local communities who struggle to put food on the table, especially during the holidays when so many of us are celebrating with special meals,” said Don Walston, founder and chairman of Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston. “Turkeys for the Triangle is our answer to that sad reality; it is a way our company, our clients, and our kind neighbors can give to the greater good, to feed those in need.”

Turkeys for the Triangle is fortunate to continue its four-year partnership with Butterball to support food-insecure families throughout the broader Triangle area and at Fort Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro. Butterball’s sizable, 1,500-turkey donation to Turkeys for the Triangle is a part of its annual Thanksgiving outreach efforts.

“Butterball is proud to help supply the turkeys for the Thanksgiving Turkey Toss for the fourth straight year,” said Kerry Doughty, company president and CEO. “Addressing the needs of the communities where our employees live and work is part of our core values of giving, and through our participation in Turkeys for the Triangle, we are able to serve families in need in the area we call home.”

Turkeys for the Triangle Distribution Events

Turkeys for the Triangle will host two “Turkey Toss” events to distribute the frozen birds to disadvantaged families and military members to enjoy at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The first Turkey Toss will take place the week before Thanksgiving at Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston’s headquarters on Wade Avenue. The second event will follow in mid-December.

With the help of company staff, Butterball representatives, and members of the U.S. Veterans Corps, the boxed frozen turkeys will be loaded into trucks and vehicles to be delivered out into the community to pre-selected organizations* including the:

USO;

Backpack Buddies;

Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina;

Fort Bragg Military Base;

Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry;

*Recipient organizations will be pre-selected to receive turkey donations. Turkeys will not be available for other organizations or individuals who show up at the event without prior notification.
