First Local Franchise of Successful Direct Mail Publication
Local business owners Craig and Merri Lea Metcalf have successfully launched the Cary/Apex edition of Money Pages magazine, a direct mail publication that helps readers save money on everyday purchases and helps local businesses grow their bottom lines.
The inaugural April 2014 and subsequent May editions spanned 32 pages each and was mailed to more than 61,000 households in Cary and Apex. The next issue, scheduled for distribution June 16, will feature Cary pro soccer team the Carolina RailHawks on its cover.
The Metcalfs, owners of Metcalf Painting Company for the past 28 years, formed Triangle Marketing Concepts to serve as the first franchisee of Money Pages in North Carolina. Daughter Carmen Metcalf, an account executive with the company, has already developed relationships with many local businesses to help them grow.
“What sets Money Pages apart from other mailers is that it is truly community-driven,” said Craig Metcalf. “It’s more economical for a business to run ads in a smaller area closer to their customer base. Eventually, we will have five or six different editions for specific zones across Wake County.”
Money Pages was founded in Jacksonville, Fla., in 2001 by former Apex resident Alan Worley and his wife Kristin. Today, Money Pages has grown to include 13 markets throughout the Southeast.
“I’ve known Craig my whole life and I know he will do a great job with the Wake County franchise,” said Worley, president and CEO of Money Pages. “In fact, their first two issues right out of the gate set records for number of pages, and their next issue is already full.”
