First Tennessee Bank Promotes Billy Frank to President, John Fox to Chairman of Mid-Atlantic Region

Duo to Oversee First Tennessee’s Continued Regional Expansion

Billy Frank has been named president of the Mid-Atlantic region of First Tennessee Bank, and John Fox, president of the region since it was founded in 2003, will become chairman of the region. First Tennessee’s Mid-Atlantic region includes Greenville, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; and Jacksonville, Fla. Frank had been president of First Tennessee’s community banking group in Tennessee.

“John Fox has had a remarkable 40-year career in banking, capped off for the last 12 years as the dynamic leader of our Mid-Atlantic region, where as he orchestrated our growth from a single office in Winston-Salem to seven markets in four states,” said David Popwell, president of banking for First Tennessee’s parent company, First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE: FHN). “As we worked with John to map out the strategic plan for the Mid-Atlantic region that would take us through 2020, we considered who among our team of experienced executives could succeed John Fox as Mid-Atlantic president and carry us through that strategic plan.
