Football at Sunrise: Frank McNair Presents "Life on the Line: Football, Rage, and Redemption"

Two middle-school boys – completely opposite and mortal enemies – are struggling to understand themselves and the world around them while battered and bleeding, they’re leading their football team to an undefeated season. Winston-Salem author Frank McNair will bring those boys to life when he reads from his new football novel Life on the Line: Football, Rage, and Redemption at Sunrise Books in High Point on Saturday, October 7, beginning at 2 p.m.

A former football player himself, McNair was able to incorporate authentic, play-by-play gridiron action in his book. He also exposes adolescent rage and acknowledges the violence of football. Ultimately, however, Life on the Line acknowledges the importance of family and faith and the redemptive power of love and forgiveness.

While McNair is delighted by the positive reviews his book continues to receive from adult readers, he stresses, “This is the sort of sports book that will resonate with teenagers – especially teenage boys -- who love football but think they hate to read. If you can get them into the first chapter, I think they'll be hooked.”

Life on the Line: Football, Rage, and Redemption was named Best Book in the Young Adult category during the Spring 2017 Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards.

After reading selections from the book, McNair will take questions and sign copies for sale at Sunrise Books.

Opened in April 2016, Sunrise Books is located at 7 Hillcrest Place near the intersection with North Main Street in High Point’s Uptown district. For more information, visit www.sunrisebookshp.com or contact owner Angel Schroeder at 336.397.3755.
