Hank Donaghy, LUTCF, ChFC, CLU, FSS, a financial advisor with MassMutual Carolinas, a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), received the “Outstanding Eagle Scout” Award from the Mecklenburg County Council of The Boy Scouts of America.

Involved in Scouting for more than 45 years, Donaghy received this award as a result of his service as an adult volunteer including roles such as: scoutmaster, district chairperson, fundraiser and a sales leader for opening up new scout units.

“I am very grateful for this recognition and appreciate the opportunity to do something positive for scouting which as so much for me and my family,” said Donaghy. “Being an Eagle Scout gave me an additional education and a level of confidence that came from my determined pursuit of the rank of Eagle Scout.”

Donaghy is committed to both his profession and to giving back to community. He has been in the financial services industry nearly 60 years – including 29 years with MassMutual Carolinas – along with 30 years in the United States Naval Reserve. In his spare time, he volunteers at various service organizations and his church where he teaches Sunday school. In addition to his involvement in Boy Scouts, he has also been a Rotarian for more than 45 years, is a founding member of the Matthews Executive Group, and enjoys giving people career advice.
