HEAR VISIONARY THINKERS, CONTRIBUTE YOUR IDEAS AT FREE CONFERENCE ON MAKING CHARLOTTE REGION MORE LIVABLE FOR ALL GENERATIONS
Hear visionary thinkers and contribute your ideas for making the Charlotte region more livable for seniors and all generations at a free conference.
Join elected officials, The Council on Aging, and The Ivey to listen, participate, and help ensure our citizens live their best life while aging. The Many Faces of Aging Conference is on Monday, June 3 from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Queens University Sports Complex, 2229 Tyvola Road in Charlotte. Admission and parking are free. Morning coffee and lunch are included. Reserve your spot by May 30 by registering at www.manyfacesofaging.org or calling 704/909-2070.
At this conference, you'll have the opportunity to get informed, share your thoughts, and inspire further action. Listen and participate in a keynote discussion led by Ronald Manheimer, an internationally sought-after speaker, former executive director of the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement in Asheville, and former education director of The National Council on Aging in Washington, D.C. Topics include livable environments, lifelong learning and creativity, volunteerism by and for seniors, community leadership by and for seniors, and other issues.
This provocative conversation will include Sandra Timmermann, executive director for the MetLife Mature Market Institute, and AARP’s new North Carolina associate state director, Michael Olender.
Then it will be time for you to share your perceptions and opinions in facilitated breakout sessions. Your ideas will serve as the foundation for ongoing policy planning for successful aging and valuing human capital, no matter your age. For more detailed information, visit www.manyfacesofaging.org.
"The Many Faces of Aging" is sponsored by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Council on Aging and The Ivey, the non-profit memory care day center in the SouthPark area of Charlotte.
