Bookmark and Share Lexington, NC - August 29, 2017 -

As a part of Hospice of Davidson County’s More Meaningful Moments Comprehensive Campaign, the nonprofit is encouraging the community to take part in the HODC 365x3 Challenge. Through this fundraising initiative, donors are encouraged to pledge one dollar, every day, for three years totaling a donation of more than $1,000. Donations can be paid monthly ($30) for 36 months or through a onetime gift.

In addition, the agency is asking for the community’s help in sharing their meaningful moments through photos and stories to be complied and shared on the Hospice of Davidson County website and Facebook page. Stories and photos can be submitted to communityrelations@hospiceofdavidson.org.

Over the next decade, the population of residents over the age of 65 in Davidson County is projected to grow over 23 percent. The services provided by Hospice of Davidson County must expand to meet the growing demands for quality end-of-life care and grief support.

With a $2.3 million goal, the campaign is focusing on four areas: enhance patient care with updates to the Hinkle Hospice House and technology upgrades, expand services to provide pediatric hospice care, provide a place for reflection with the addition of the serenity garden and ensure stable growth by sustaining top quality programs and services to meet the growing needs of Davidson County’s aging population.

“Because of the generosity of this community, we have been able to fulfill our mission to enhance quality-of-life by providing expert physical, emotional, and spiritual care for Davidson County residents for more than three decades,” said Director of Community Relations, Jan Knox. “The HODC 365x3 Challenge is an opportunity for everyone to get involved with the More Meaningful Moments campaign. Just one dollar a day, for three years, will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of so many touched by a life-limiting illness or loss in our community.”

In 2016, Hospice of Davidson County served more than 4,700 individuals in the Piedmont Triad with the agency’s various programs and services including providing $246,000 in charity care for patients in need of end-of-life care. All while eliminating the agency’s debt.
