CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 14, 2014 – Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas (JACC), a premier organization dedicated to educating the state’s youth on investment and finance, has partnered with full-service recruiting firm Accountants One in The Search for Charlotte’s Funniest Accountant. After eight years of hunting for humorous finance professionals, the firm and JACC are expanding their search to Charlotte, the location of its newest regional office. The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the Comedy Zone, located at 900 NC Music Factory Boulevard, Suite B3 in Charlotte. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will begin at 8 p.m.

Nine accountants from various companies throughout the state will face off in a comedy battle, and the winner will get the chance to compete against other regional winners from Atlanta and Raleigh. All regional winners will meet in Atlanta for a final comedy competition, The Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Accountants One has raised more than $150,000 for Junior Achievement through its many sponsors, including UPS, Ernst & Young, Chick-fil-A and ADP. Accountants One recognizes the need for humor in the workplace and supports the event’s goal of eradicating negative stereotypes often linked with finance professionals.

JACC seeks to teach financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship to students through volunteers and collaborative partnerships, using interactive, experiential curriculum to help students connect their classroom education to the real world. The Search for Charlotte’s Funniest Accountant isn’t only a fun event designed to redefine the financial professional stereotype, but all event proceeds will help support JA Classroom Programs in Mecklenburg County Schools and help promote continued youth financial literacy education.

This event is open to individuals ages 18 and up. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds are donated to JACC. For tickets and more information, visit http://bit.ly/1AOw1MP.
