Financial industry veteran Laura Bunn has joined First Tennessee Bank as Triangle market executive and Jim Beck, who served as First Tennessee’s Triangle market president since 2015, has been named chairman.

Bunn, 42, comes to First Tennessee from PNC Bank, where she served as commercial market leader for the Eastern Carolinas region. She will lead First Tennessee’s strategic expansion in the Triangle market.

With two decades of commercial banking experience, Bunn also served in leadership roles at RBC Bank, First Citizens Bank and Wachovia Bank. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from North Carolina State University and serves as chair-elect of Marbles Kids Museum.

Beck, 64 and a 40-year banking veteran, will focus on market and advisory board development, community leadership and mentoring and will serve as a strategic advisor. Beck has served as Triangle market president since 2015 when First Tennessee’s parent company, First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE:FHN), acquired TrustAtlantic Bank and its parent company, TrustAtlantic Financial Corporation, where he was chief executive officer and founder.

Bunn will report to Bill Holt, president of First Tennessee’s Mid-Atlantic region. “Laura has developed deep relationships in the Triangle, and she brings a wealth of experience and outstanding leadership skills to our team at First Tennessee Bank,” Holt said. “Jim has been an energetic, committed, highly engaged leader, and we are very pleased that he will continue to provide leadership in his new role as chairman.”
