Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that the firm has formally launched a sports law practice, MVA Sports. The group is led by Member Donald (Don) Bancroft Meyer, Counsel W. (Sam) E. Applegate, III, and Associate and National Football League Players Association Certified Contract Advisor Neil (Trey) Robinson. MVA Sports will be based in the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina, office.

“Our team understands the needs and responsibilities of elite athletes. We strive to empower our clients by providing zealous representation and resources to benefit them both during and after their athletic careers,” said Robinson. “We design an individualized game plan for every client, partnering with each to support their goals and position them for success in future pursuits.”

The MVA Sports team will assist athletes with pre-draft preparation, contract negotiation, marketing and endorsements, media relations, nonprofit foundations, social media management, immigration matters, tax and estate planning, and post career planning. MVA Sports will, at the onset, cater largely to NFL clients. The team also currently represents one of the top male weightlifters in the United States and an analyst for one of the top providers of sports news. The attorneys serve a limited number of athletes each year, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.

MVA Sports, formerly RES Agency, was originally founded by Robinson. Robinson brought his sports practice to the firm in 2016 to expand the resources and benefits available to existing and future clients.
