The North Carolina Department of Revenue is proud to announce a new partnership with 13 major corporations, accounting firms and banks to create the NCDOR Business Advisory Committee.

NCDOR operates under the guidance of three core tenets: be firm but fair, compassionate when called for and easy to do business with. The Business Advisory Committee will serve as a key element in helping the agency reach those goals.

This group comprises high-level tax experts who will lend their advice to the agency on issues of processing, tax administration and taxpayer communication.

"The creation of this group came from a desire to facilitate better, quality communication between NCDOR and the business community," said NCDOR Chief Operating Officer Linda Millsaps. "By understanding and building on their expertise, we can provide our best service to businesses and tax practitioners."

The group will provide insight about tax compliance processes and practices within the business community and highlight the impact of tax law changes on business operations.

Participating members include:

Deloitte BB&T

Ernst and Young CREE

Grant Thornton Duke Energy

KPMG VF Corp

McGladrey Wal-Mart

PWC Mayer Brown

Bank of America

The committee will focus primarily on administrative issues and tax law interpretations, providing valuable feedback that will lead to effective solutions for both the State and business community.
