RALEIGH, N.C., February 22, 2016 – Paragon Bank (OTCQX:PBNC), has announced that Matthew C. Davis, chief operating officer and executive vice president, has been appointed to the board of directors for WakeEd Partnership and to the board for A Place at the Table.

For more than 30 years, WakeEd Partnership’s board of directors has consisted of members who are often deeply involved in public education, and leaders in the business community and community-at-large. WakeEd works to inform, influence, and champion issues that impact our schools the most. A Place at the Table, having recently formed and in the process of opening a location along Hillsborough Street, strives to provide a place for community and healthy food for all regardless of means.

Davis, an industry veteran, has more than 24 years of experience working in banking and finance, the last 17 of which have been with Paragon Bank. His areas of expertise include overseeing day-to-day operations within the bank, as well as credit administration, marketing, audit and compliance. He previously served as the Chief Credit Officer for the bank and as well as a lending officer.

Outside of the office, Davis’ involvement has included the Rotary Club and the Community Investment Corporation of the Carolinas. He has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and has served as the vice president and a board member for the Risk Management Associates local chapter. He has also served as an assistant scoutmaster for the local Boy Scouts of America troop. A North Carolina native, Matt grew up in Louisburg and attended NC State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in management and his Master of Science in management. He lives in North Raleigh with his wife of 21 years and their three children.
