On Thursday, August 25, from 6 to 8pm., Port of Raleigh, a new home and lifestyle store in downtown Raleigh, will host North Carolina Modernist Houses’ (NCMH) Thirst4Architecture networking event, co-sponsored by RED Collective real estate brokers.

Free and open to the public, the monthly Thirst4Architecture (T4A) events bring together hundreds of people who are passionate about Modernist architecture and design in a casual, relaxed environment. The host business provides food and beverages and often entertainment.

“We welcome Modernist homeowners, architects and artists, builders and contractors, materials vendors and furniture dealers, and anyone else with a passion for Modernist design,” said NCMH founder and director George Smart, whose non-profit organization is dedicated to archiving, preserving, and promoting Modernist residential design across the state.

For Port of Raleigh’s T4A event this month, owner Ana Maria Muñoz will celebrate her store’s launch of Flitch furniture, a line of custom-made modern cabinetry and furniture designed and manufactured in Raleigh in the North Carolina tradition of craftsmanship. T4A guests will also be able to wander among all of the shop's “modern and timeless designs from far and near.”

Muñoz explains her inventory as "objects of use that elevate your everyday and make your home that much more fun to live, play, and grow in."

Port of Raleigh is located at 416 South McDowell Street. For more information, visit www.portofraleigh.co

RED Collective is co-sponsoring all T4A events in the Triangle through December 2016.
