Event organizer FS Series is pleased to announce the initial list of sponsors for the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (RDC) Marathon and Half Marathon benefiting ALS research. This inaugural road race will occur on Sunday, November 12, 2017, with the start and finish lines located at The Streets at Southpoint shopping mall in Durham, North Carolina.

Many organizations are supporting the race, including the Durham Sports Commission as title sponsor. Other sponsors include Fleet Feet Sports, Sprouts Farmers Market, Lululemon, S&A Communications, Raleigh Brewing Co. and Bull Durham Beer Co.

“The Durham Sports Commission is proud to help see to fruition of Durham’s first ever marathon,” said Ashleigh Bachert, executive director, Durham Sports Commission. “Runners, especially marathoners, tend to spend more money in communities as well as look for destinations that are different and exciting. I know Durham will showcase itself well in both aspects and we can’t to see what this event will grow into in the upcoming years.”

“We are very excited to partner with these organizations and are grateful for their support of our inaugural event,” said Jason Biggs, race organizer and FS Series co-owner. “We are actively seeking additional sponsors to help make this event the best it can be.”

The race will host approximately 1,500 total participants (1,000 half marathon runners and 500 full marathon runners) on a USATF-certified course that features the popular American Tobacco Trail. This unique venue gives participants and spectators the opportunity to wine, dine, shop and run all in one place. FS Series will team with Team Drea Foundation, Team Chris Combs and Jason Capel to donate proceeds from the event to help fund research to find a cure for ALS.
