The Power of Place, Parks and Quality of Life

Join us to get the latest insight into the development of Chatham County! The Town of Pittsboro Parks Department and the Chatham Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will host a forum, The Power of Place, Parks and Quality of Life: An Economic Development Perspective, on Tuesday, April 11, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Three experts will unveil their insight on how investments in parks and recreation and economic development go hand in hand. Paul Horne, Parks Planner for the Town of Pittsboro, will moderate the panel discussion. Panelists include:

• Kyle Touchstone – President, Chatham Economic Development Corporation

• Jody Leidolf – Manager, Planning and Sustainability, Newland Communities

• Sig Hutchinson – Chair, Wake County Board of Commissioners, and open space advocate

The forum joins forces with the town’s ongoing effort to encourage public participation and input for the development of a long-term Parks System Master Plan.

The forum will be held Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center at 1192 US 64 W Business in Pittsboro. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged.  Contact info@chathamedc.org to make a group reservation. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
