TOURtech, a managed IT services company for corporate, sporting and entertainment events will provide $19,000 in WIFI and networking for the Farm Aid 2014 concert at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre Saturday, Sept. 13. The firm will augment existing WIFI at the venue to provide ample bandwidth and connectivity for the national benefit program.

“When the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre is full, there is little bandwidth available for media or concert production operations,” says Jennifer Fahy, communications director for Farm Aid. “TOURtech offered to provide the needed IT support as an in-kind contribution, allowing more of the money raised to go to our mission to keep family farmers on the land and thriving.”

“Farm Aid is a very important program to supporting the family-owned farm and the local food movement,” says Allen Cook, founder and CEO of TOURtech. “The entire TOURtech team is excited about the opportunity to support Farm Aid in such a significant way.”

The Raleigh-based firm, TOURtech, has seen exponential growth in demand for WIFI networks dedicated to supporting major events, from festivals and concerts to tradeshows and corporate functions. Farm Aid is just one recent example. In the past 45 days alone, TOURtech crews have crisscrossed the country providing managed IT and WIFI services for events including the NFL Kickoff Concert in Seattle, Made In America Festival in Philadelphia and the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago. In each case, the established WIFI and IT structure was inadequate to support both event operations and attendee usage.
