Triangle British-American Business Council Presents Discussion on UK & US Healthcare Systems

The Triangle/Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the British-American Business Council, will host a networking event and program titled “A Discussion of Two Healthcare Systems: UK vs. US, A Comparison,” on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5:30-8 p.m. The event will take place at BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Headquarters, 4613 University Drive, Building 450, in Durham.

The discussion will take a closer look at the glaring differences between the UK and US healthcare systems, including the underlying economics, politics and business decisions that influence both systems. Experts will discuss the history and development of both systems; core business determinants, influences and nuances; strengths and weaknesses of both and whether the comparison is fair or politically tainted; and the future of both systems and whether there is merit in learning from each other.

The program will be moderated by WRAL-TV Anchor/Reporter Debra Morgan and will feature a distinguished panel of speakers:

Registration and networking will take place from 5:30-6 p.m., to be followed by the program and Q&A from 6-7:15 p.m., and a networking reception until 8 p.m.
