TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Triangle’s premiere moving company, today announced it is collecting donations for its annual Movers for Moms® campaign to recognize and aid mothers in need. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect donations for women every spring and deliver them to local women’s and family shelters on Mother’s Day.

Donations collected in the greater Triangle area will directly benefit mothers in need at non-profit women’s and family shelters in Durham, Raleigh and Burlington. These shelters include: Raleigh-based InterAct, the only provider of comprehensive services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Wake County, Durham Rescue Mission, Durham’s oldest and largest long-term shelter serving 130 women and children each night, and Family Abuse Services of Alamance County, serving more than 104 women and children in its shelter last year.

Donations can be made at designated boxes at any TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location or in participating apartment buildings. For a list of participating Triangle locations, visit www.facebook.com/TwoMenAndATruckDurham.

Items accepted include gently used and new women's and children's clothing, books, electronics, kitchenware, furniture, linens, rugs, small appliances, toys, kid’s art supplies and home décor. New household items are also accepted, including disinfecting wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, kitchen-size trash bags, facial tissue, sets of towels and microwave-safe plates and bowls.

“Making a difference in the local North Carolina communities we serve is integral to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Triangle. Movers for Moms is our way to show appreciation for the efforts of area mothers who may be facing challenging circumstances,” said Brooke Wilson, franchise co-owner of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Triangle. “Through Movers for Moms we want to help bring joy to mothers on their special day.”

The Movers for Moms® campaign kicked off in 2011 and has been helping mothers nationwide ever since. Last year’s record-breaking Movers for Moms® campaign collected and delivered more than 220,000 items on Mother’s Day for women’s and family shelters across the country, with a large contribution collected and donated by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Triangle. This will be the fifth year for the program.
