UNC Health Care, Rex Healthcare and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund invite the Triangle community to attend the “Field of Hope” Durham Bulls game on Saturday, August 23, to join in the fight against women’s cancers. Fans are invited to purchase special “Field of Hope” tickets for $12.99, with $5 of each ticket sold benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Tickets can be purchased at kayyow.com/FieldofHope using the promo code “PLAY4KAY.” The first 1,000 fans to present their “Field of Hope” ticket at the UNC-Rex Healthcare tables along the outfield concourse of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on game day will receive a free gift.

The Bulls will recognize and celebrate survivors during the game. Additionally, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will host a raffle with giveaways throughout the event, and Rex’s Mobile Mammography Unit will also be on-site.

The local fundraising effort is in memory of former North Carolina State University women’s basketball head coach, Kay Yow, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and battled the disease until 2009. In December 2007, Yow founded the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, an organization committed to finding a cure in the fight against women’s cancers. Today, the Fund raises money for scientific research and assists the underserved community.
