RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 20, 2014 – VMZINC®-US, the international brand name of rolled zinc products manufactured and sold by the Building Products Unit of the Umicore group, has announced the company will be present at METALCON 2014, the only annual international conference and exposition focused on metal construction products, technologies and solutions, on Wednesday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 3. This year’s event will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, located at 700 4th St. VMZINC® will host a trade show exhibit booth at #1821 and Sammy Baron, customer support manager for ornaments at VMZINC®, will lead three presentations on the effective use of zinc and copper ornaments in construction. Dan Hennessey, VMZINC® sales representative for Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona, will also be available at the company’s booth to discuss the VMZINC® product line and answer any questions.

Baron’s presentation, titled “Ornaments are the Diamonds on the Crown of a Building or a Landmark,” will focus on roofing decoration, heritage orientation and new design. They will be held at the following times:

• Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 4 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Learning Zone 2, Booth 341

• Thursday, Oct. 2 from 2 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in Learning Zone 1, Booth 2117

• Friday, Oct. 3 from 10:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Learning Zone 1, Booth 2117

With more than 22 years of industry experience, Baron is responsible for worldwide export sales for VMZINC® Ornaments, a division with a production of heritage and decorative roofing applications for historical buildings using copper and zinc. Prior to serving as customer support manager, he worked in VMZINC®’s technical support department, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s trainers in Benelux and the United Kingdom. Before joining VMZINC®, Baron spent 15 years with a roofing company where he worked in close association with VMZINC® applications.

In addition to Baron’s presentation, VMZINC® has contributed materials to the Solar Bay exhibit at booth # 846, METALCON’s central space, where visitors have the opportunity to discover the latest solar products and solar integration technologies for metal roofing. The Solar Bay Pavilion allows experts and product engineers to demonstrate the best methodologies for integrating solar technology into new and existing construction projects. Throughout METALCON, attendees can visit the Solar Bay Pavilion to attend seminars on solar installation and care, as well as learn about the latest solar system trends and the benefits associated with using this type of solar technology.
