Bookmark and Share Raleigh , NC - May 20, 2016

An exciting new public-private partnership will give Wake Tech grads a competitive edge! Wake Tech and Audi of America have joined forces in the Audi Educational Partnership program, which provides equipment and instructional materials to help students build advanced skills.

Audi will provide training equipment for students in Wake Tech’s Automotive Systems Technology programs – a vehicle and a 2.0L Turbo fuel stratified injection (TFSI) engine, an Audi innovation that provides high power, reduced emissions, and fuel efficiency. Audi will also provide Snap-On Toolsets. Students will become more proficient in these advanced and sophisticated systems and learn servicing, maintenance, and roadside assistance skills. Demand is great for technicians with training of this kind – and will only increase.

“This partnership will enhance the quality of an already exceptional course of study,” said Patricia Godin, dean of Wake Tech’s Applied Engineering & Technologies division. “It will increase the knowledge base and employability of our graduates. We look forward to a long and mutually-beneficial partnership with Audi and are confident it will help our students transition successfully into the workforce, serving car owners and dealerships.”

Wake Tech offers an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Automotive Systems Technology. The program includes new and emerging technologies and covers automotive systems from the basics to advanced technologies, to prepare students for successful employment. Qualified technicians can work in dealerships, on particular product lines; or in independent garages servicing all types of vehicles.
