Anthony Caison, Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education at Wake Tech, has been accepted into Leadership North Carolina’s 2016-17 class. The invitation to join the state’s premier leadership engagement program is a prestigious one that places Caison in a select group of civic and community leaders from across the state.

Each year, through a rigorous selection process, Leadership North Carolina (LNC) chooses a class of established and emerging leaders from across North Carolina. This year’s class is made up of top leaders from government, business, nonprofit, and education sectors.

Over the course of six sessions, VP Caison and the other participants will learn about issues critical to the state through discussions with top officials and professionals, field trips, and experiential learning activities. LNC’s sessions focus on five key areas: economic development, education, environment, government, and health and human services. Participants gain new insight into North Carolina’s strengths and challenges and develop their own action plans for how to improve and empower their communities and the state as a whole.

“Participating in the Leadership North Carolina program is indeed an honor,” said VP Caison. Having the opportunity to meet and engage with statewide leaders and learn about issues affecting our state is an experience that will certainly benefit me for years to come.”

LNC sessions are held around the state, highlighting the social, geographic, and economic diversity of North Carolina.

Caison has worked in education for more than 20 years. He joined Wake Tech in 1997 and has held several leadership positions at the college. In his current role, he supervises nine divisions in providing workforce continuing education opportunities to the citizens of Wake County, and to local businesses and corporations. Caison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
