RALEIGH, N.C. (September 14, 2016) – Wake Technical Community College wants former ITT Technical Institute students to know that it is eager to help with their transition. Many of these students found themselves displaced after the recent closing of ITT Tech. Wake Tech offers programs that align with those previously offered at ITT Tech – programs such as IT–Network Management, Information Systems Security, Criminal Justice Technology, and Business Administration, among others – and in many cases credits will transfer. Transcripts will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Former ITT Tech students are encouraged to start the application process now for spring semester, which starts January 5. A limited number classes will also be available for students to start this fall, in an 8-week mini-mester, which begins October 19. Mini-mester classes provide the same number of college credits as 16-week classes in a condensed timeframe.

Wake Tech has created a special web page for former ITT Tech students: itttech.waketech.edu. Students are encouraged to visit the page to explore options, and to call 919-866-5420 to find out more.

As North Carolina’s largest community college, Wake Tech is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Tuition is set at $76 per credit hour by the State Board of Community Colleges and the North Carolina General Assembly. Wake Tech offers classes at five campuses and three training centers that span Wake County. The college also offers an extensive selection of courses and programs online, and has more online students than any other NC community college.
