William Peace University, (http://www.peace.edu/) a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce Julie B. Fleming as Director of Advising Services. Fleming, who has been an academic advisor and is in her third academic year at the University, will oversee the academic advising program for all WPU students and help ensure quality support and assistance to students across the areas of registration, degree audits, transcript review, graduation certification, articulation agreements, and assessment.

Prior to joining William Peace University, Fleming worked in several areas of student services at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and in undergraduate academic advising at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received the Mickel-Shaw Excellence in Advising Award. Fleming also served as the associate director of admissions for Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh. She holds both a B.A. in psychology and Italian and a MSW from the University of Michigan.

Townsley, Ph.D., President of William Peace University. “The transition has been seamless given her years of experience in advising and counseling, and the fact that she already personally knows our students. I think this is great for her and the institution.”

“I believe that academic advising is a critical component of a student’s college experience,” Fleming said. “I have been a member of the Peace community since 2012 and I am thrilled to now have the opportunity to further support the students here at William Peace University.”

Fleming resides in Raleigh with her husband and three children.
