William Peace University, (http://www.peace.edu/) a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce the hiring of Tiffany J. McKenzie, LPA, as Visiting Professor of Psychology. McKenzie has taught at the University for more than a year, lecturing several introductory Psychology courses. In her new, expanded role, she will advise students and teach Abnormal Psychology, Health Psychology, and The Psychology of Adulthood and Aging.

Before coming to William Peace University, McKenzie worked as an Outpatient Therapist for Wellness Supports, LLC, in Raleigh where she provided individual, couple, and family psychotherapy. The Pennsylvania native also served as a Psychotherapist for the Family Works Psychological Center in Goldsboro, where she provided individual, couple, and family psychotherapy, administered, scored, and interpreted psychological tests, and completed psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments. On top of her work in mental health, McKenzie has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Strayer University, Kaplan University, and both Wayne and Wake Technical Community Colleges.

McKenzie earned a M.A. in Community-Clinical Psychology from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, along with a B.A. in Psychology from Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

“I am very thankful for this opportunity to teach at William Peace University,” McKenzie said. “When I had the chance to teach an introductory psychology class ten years ago at a community college, I immediately knew that this was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Becoming a part of the William Peace University community will allow me to be more involved with the students and to share my passion for psychology.”

“Tiffany brings a lot to the table,” said Debra M. Townsley, President of William Peace University. “She has worked in both higher education and the private sector, giving her experience and knowledge that will be sure to help our students not only in the classroom, but in the real world as well. She is a welcomed addition to our faculty.”

“We are extremely excited about the addition of Professor McKenzie and all that she has to offer to the Psychology Department, as well as the Peace community,” said Psychology major Laura Martin ‘15. “We look forward to all of her success here at Peace.”

McKenzie resides in Apex with her husband and daughter. She is a member of the North Carolina Psychology Board and Psi Chi Honor Society.
