William Peace University, (http://www.peace.edu/) a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, will host its first Open House of the 2014-2015 academic year on Saturday, September 13 at 10 a.m. The University is expected to welcome more than a hundred visitors, including potential students, their friends and family members. Visitors will tour the campus with WPU Student Ambassadors and Admissions Counselors, gain knowledge of the University’s student life, fields of study, faculty/staff, and facilities. Participants will also hear a special welcome message from Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University.

The University is coming off a successful year where it celebrated several academic accomplishments, including being named No. 1 in the nation for student internships by U.S. News & World Report, and being ranked among the top 10% nationwide for student-faculty interaction, along with higher-order learning, reflective and integrative learning, learning strategies, discussions with diverse others, and supportive environment (according to the 2013 National Survey of Student Engagement).

Additionally, the University celebrated a continued success rate regarding student outcomes and job placement, announcing an employment/further education placement rate of 97 percent for its 2013 graduates one year following graduation. The statistic was the third highest employment/graduate school placement rate for the University since data began being collected in 2000.

“We are very excited to kick off another successful academic year with our first Open House on Saturday,” Townsley said. “Our University continues to take strides toward excellence, which is a message we love sharing with our potential students, their friends, and family members.”

“Visiting campus is an exciting time for students and their families, and is an opportunity for students to meet our faculty, have their questions answered and tour campus,” said Justin G. Roy, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing. “The campus community is excited to meet our future Pacers.”

Throughout the academic year, the University will host a total of six Open Houses, plus a special summer edition of the event. To view a detailed list of those dates, please visit: http://www.peace.edu/events/admission-events.
