Curamericas Global is celebrating a big milestone, reaching over half of its annual Mom-a-thon fundraising goal with a month still remaining to raise money. So far, the Raleigh-based nonprofit has raised $212,113 as part of the yearly fundraiser. The “virtual race” aims to raise $350,000 by December 1st to provide life-saving medical care for women and children.

“We are so thankful to the teams who have stepped in and already given so much to this important cause,” said Andrew Herrera, Executive Director of Curamericas Global. “We’ve seen families, churches, businesses and communities come together in this race to save lives of women and children.”

A play on a traditional marathon, the 3rd annual Mom-a-thon is a virtual race to save the lives of mothers in forgotten communities around the world. Each participant is asked to contribute at least $28 which provides comprehensive care for one mom and her family for a whole year. This year’s campaign will impact over 120,000 families by providing life-saving medical care.

Curamericas Global aims to impact the health and well-being of women and children by creating culturally acceptable, sustainable health care centers and programs across the world. Funds from the Mom-a-thon will help provide access to basic health care services and education in communities right here in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and around the globe from Guatemala to Kenya as part of the organization’s ongoing programs.

It’s not too late to join the race to save lives. Visit www.run.curamericas.org to donate today.
