HANDY MART RAISES MORE THAN $21,000 TO SUPPORT HOPE FOR THE WARRIORS

Recently, Handy Mart raised more than $21,000 through its ‘Dog Tag” campaign “Give Hope to Warriors” benefiting Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Patrons of the 39 Handy Mart Eastern North Carolina stores were invited to support Hope For The Warriors by purchasing a dog tag for $1 or $5. Handy Mart displayed the dog tags throughout the store, providing customers the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment and support for service members.

“We are very grateful to the thousands of guests and hundreds of our team members who participated in our Hope For The Warriors fundraiser,” said Handy Mart Director of Marketing, Cory Robinson. We are proud to have a partnership with Hope For The Warriors and for the work they do for veterans and their family members in Eastern North Carolina. Handy Mart is thankful to be able to make a positive difference in the communities we serve.”

Celebrating 12 years of service, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation and transition services.

“When Hope For The Warriors started in Eastern North Carolina 12 years ago, we dreamed of local businesses like Handy Mart supporting our initiatives,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “Most importantly, Handy Mart its staff and customers are truly impacting the well-being of the many veterans, service members and families who have bravely served and sacrificed for our country.”
