Moore & Van Allen welcomes Amy Murphy Curlis to public affairs team

Murphy Curlis to join MVA Public Affairs Public Relations & Communications team

Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Amy Murphy Curlis has joined the firm’s public affairs team, MVA Public Affairs, as director of communications and media relations.

Price. “Amy is a highly esteemed and well connected communications executive and consultant. She brings years of strategic corporate communications and public policy experience to the table, and her track record of accomplishments is sure to continue here at MVA. Murphy Curlis joins Director of Public Relations Ashley Simmons on the MVA Public Affairs Public Relations & Communications team, helping clients to tell their stories and deliver effective messages in support of their overarching public affairs and business goals.

MVA Public Affairs advises clients across the finance, energy, health care, retail, real estate, technology, professional sports, government and nonprofit sectors. In addition to providing communications and media relations guidance, developing campaigns and crafting messaging, the team provides direct advocacy and lobbying services, event management, government relations and grassroots issue management.

Before joining MVA Public Affairs, Murphy Curlis served as vice president of corporate communications, marketing and outreach for Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System). Her career has spanned corporate communications, public policy, national and local thought leadership, issues management, media strategy, strategic marketing and brand positioning. Prior to her most recent role, she provided strategic communications counsel for high-profile clients across the country while working with Revive Health. She has also led communications efforts for the American College of Cardiology, a national trade association in Washington, D.C., and previously worked for a member of the United States Congress on Capitol Hill.

Murphy Curlis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lambuth University and a Master of Arts in Communication from Johns Hopkins University. She serves on the YWCA of Central Carolinas Board of Directors and created the Coach Doyle Murphy Memorial Scholarship in memory of her late father.
