New Orangetheory Fitness Studio Coming to South Wilmington

Bookmark and Share High-Intensity Interval Fitness Franchise Continues Expansion With Second Coastal North Carolina Studio - November 28, 2017

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Orangetheory Fitness, the energizing and fast-growing fitness franchise, is opening a new studio in South Wilmington. With 18 studios now open across the state and several in development, the brand will continue to target the North Carolina area for expansion. The second Wilmington studio will be located in The Pointe at Barclay shopping center near the intersection of Independence Boulevard and South 17th Street.

Individuals can now learn about the Orangetheory Fitness concept and lock in memberships at limited-time discounted rates. Reduced rates are fixed for founding members only and are not subject to future increases while the membership remains active. The Orangetheory Fitness team is available for scheduled meetings to educate people on this new studio offering at (910) 550-2009 or studio0765@orangetheoryfitness.com.

“I opened the first North Carolina studio in 2014 because I wanted to make an impact on our community’s health and wellness,” said local franchise owner and area developer, Kristie Shifflette. “Now four years and eight studios later, I’m even more blown away with the positive effects this concept delivers for our members. I’ve seen people improve chronic health conditions, be the fittest they have ever been at age 50 or get personal bests running a marathon. Orangetheory members experience an improved quality of life outside of the studio by investing their own health and wellbeing at our classes in the studio. More OTF equals more life!”

At each Orangetheory Fitness class, participants wear heart rate monitors as they go through short bursts of exercise designed to maximize the Orange Effect, which is achieved when a person’s heart rate reaches 85 percent of their maximum heart rate for at least 12 minutes. The result is extra caloric burn for up to 36 hours after the workout, equating to as much as 1,000 calories for each 60-minute class completed. It is one of the many reasons the company has been ranked #60 in Inc. magazine’s Fastest Growing Private Companies List and #1 in Fortune’s 2017 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned Companies in the United States.

Orangetheory Fitness memberships do not require a long-term commitment and can currently be purchased at reduced rates for a limited time for new members only at the new South Wilmington studio. To learn more, community members can call (910) 550-2009 or email studio0765@orangetheoryfitness.com.
