24 Hours of Booty Top Fundraisers Journey to Austin for Ride for the Roses

A group of representatives with 24 Hours of Booty, Inc., which runs the Official 24-Hour Cycling Event of LIVESTRONG and the premier national 24-hour road cycling charity event in the country, recently attended the 2011 Ride for the Roses Weekend in support of LIVESTRONG.

Joining 24 Hours of Booty founder Spencer Lueders and his wife Susan Lueders, and 24 Hours of Booty executive director, Basil Lyberg were the top fund-raising winners from the 2011 event series: Sandy Morgart (Team Bank of America); Terry Hennessee (Team Carpe Diem); John Manser (Team Pirate Treasure); Kelly Wiggins (Team Pirate Treasure); Eben Block (Team Social & Scientific Systems); and Bryan McMillan (Team KRASED Marauders). Guests of the participants included: Amanda Allen, Steve Suzie Kravitz, Susan Lueders and Wendy Block.

During Ride for the Roses, 24 Hours of Booty guests participated in a 5K run, LIVESTRONG Challenge bike ride, invitation-only events – including dinner at Lance Armstrong’s house – and had the opportunity to meet Lance Armstrong. Spencer Lueders, Lyberg, Morgart, Hennessee, Manser, Wiggins, Block and McMillan also participated in a private group ride with Lance Armstrong.

In addition, 24 Hours of Booty received a top fund-raiser award from LIVESTRONG. During the weekend, Morgart and Lyberg participated in the Partnered Events Council and Spencer Lueders participated in the Young Leaders Council.

“We are proud to have LIVESTRONG as our national beneficiary and enjoy sharing the ‘Ride for the Roses’ experience and weekend with a group of our dedicated participants,” said Lyberg. “We have had the privilege and opportunity to attend this event for the past ten years and it’s always inspiring to see the amazing impact it has on our riders who have gone above and beyond to support our mission and raise significant funds to fight cancer and then go home even more ardent cancer warriors.”

In the last four years, 24 Hours of Booty has contributed $1 million dollars to LIVESTRONG earning the organization status in the 7 Society, which recognizes individuals and organizations who have made an extraordinary financial commitment to LIVESTRONG. The following are accomplishments of the six 24 Hours of Booty winners who attended Ride for the Roses:

Morgart and Hennessee raised a combined $65,403 for the 10th Annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte. Morgart was the top fund-raiser in 24 Hours of Booty history with $50,353 and Hennessee raised $15,050.

Representing 24 Hours of Booty of Atlanta and the top fund-raising team (Team Pirate Treasure raised over $73,000) were Manser and Wiggins.

Block and McMillan represented 24 Hours of Booty of Columbia. Block was the top individual fund-raiser and McMillan represented the top fund-raising team (KRASED Marauders which raised $49,384).
