5Star Awards Wins 2014 Pinnacle Business Award

Honored as Entrepreneurial Company by Greater Raleigh Chamber

Lisa and Jeff Higginbotham, owners of 5Star Awards, Inc., recently received word that their family-owned company has won a 2014 Pinnacle Business Award from the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. 5Star Awards, certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), won in the category of Individual Entrepreneurial Company, 1-5 Employees.

The Pinnacle Business Awards will be presented at a special banquet on May 28 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Criteria for the Entrepreneurial Company Award include the following:

• Member of the Greater Raleigh Chamber

• Privately-held business

• Physically located in Wake, Orange or Durham counties

• Operating since Jan. 1, 2011, or before

• Meets size criteria of 1 to 5 employees

• President/owner and/or company has been involved in community activities

• Founder is president/owner and actively participates in the daily operations of the company

“We’re used to making awards for other winners to enjoy, so it’s cool to experience being on the receiving end,” said Lisa Higginbotham, CRS, president of 5Star Awards. “We’re very honored to receive this Pinnacle Business Award from the Greater Raleigh Chamber.”

5Star Awards actively participates in local chambers and civic groups, as well as within the awards industry. In 2013, the company won a Gold Obelisk Award from the Awards and Recognition Association (ARA) as Small Business Retailer of the Year. Lisa also teaches classes at ARA conferences.
