Activcare Physical Therapy Announces Promotion of Ryan Peryer and Two New Hires

Brad Hancock, MPT, of Activcare Physical Therapy, announced that Ryan Peryer PT, DPT has been promoted to Clinical Manager at the new Activcare Walter Reed Clinic that has opened behind the Omni Fitness Plaza at 1340 Walter Reed Road, Suite 102 in Fayetteville. Colin McGowan ATC, PT, DPT has also joined the Activcare Walter Reed Clinic as a Staff Physical Therapist. Andrew Dodgson PT, MPT has joined the Activcare Robeson Clinic located at 2301 Robeson Street, Suite 204.

Ryan Peryer, PT, DPT hails from Malone, a small rural area in Northeastern New York. A 2008 graduate from the University at Buffalo with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Ryan was chosen by faculty as the student demonstrating "Leadership in Physical Therapy". Ryan offers experience in diverse patient populations in both the outpatient and acute in-patient settings. Ryan's passion is teaching, and he is an American Physical Therapy Association accredited Clinical Instructor.

Colin McGowan, ATC, PT, DPT is originally from Brick, NJ. In 2007, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University, while earning his NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certified credential. He then worked at Syracuse University as a graduate assistant ATC for the sports medicine department primarily providing coverage for the Syracuse football team, while completing requirements for his degree; he graduated in 2009 with a Master’s of Science in Exercise Science. Colin worked at Championship Physical Therapy, a privately owned outpatient clinic in East Syracuse, prior to relocating to Burlington, NC to work on his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, which he completed in 2012. He has completed a variety of rotations including hand therapy and burn rehabilitation; he has strong interests in orthopedics, manual therapy, sports-related injuries, and rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Colin is licensed in the State of North Carolina as a physical therapist and has maintained his national credentials as an athletic trainer.

Andrew Dodgson PT, MPT was brought up in southern Maryland but found his way to North Carolina prior to receiving his Bachelors in Biology at NC State University. He went on to attend Western Carolina University, where he graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2012. While earning his physical therapy education, he performed the duties of a graduate assistant and spent time in the biomechanics lab. Andrew contributed to research to examine the relationship between hip musculature and foot mechanics. As a therapist, his interests are with the use of hands-on techniques, and he plans to go on to specialize in manual therapy for the treatment of orthopedic injuries.
