Anthony Blackman, founder and president of Atlantic Tire & Service, was honored by Business Leader Media as one of the Top Catalyst Entrepreneurs in the Triangle at a special dinner March 3 at Events at Newton Square in Raleigh.

According to Business Leader Media, the Top Catalyst Entrepreneur Award is given to dynamic and outstanding business professionals who greatly contribute to the growth of their communities. Each winner is a trendsetter and innovator who helps revitalize the local economy, create job opportunities and generate strong company revenues.

Blackman founded Atlantic Tire & Service in Cary in 1998, and added a second location in Durham in 2005 and a third location in Raleigh in 2009. Over the years, the business has garnered numerous awards including Tire Review magazine’s Top Shop in North America for 2008 and multiple Maggy Awards for Best Mechanic from Cary Magazine. Blackman has won numerous individual awards as well, including 2009 Business Leader of the Year and 2006 Citizen of the Year from the Cary Chamber of Commerce.

“It is extremely gratifying to receive this award for entrepreneurship since our growth is directly tied to our philosophy of providing excellent customer service,” said Blackman. “We’ve been blessed with great employees and customers, and are poised to open a fourth location soon.”
