Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced the addition of four new members to its board of directors.

The newly-inducted members are as follows:

• Caitlin Clinard, of Angel Oak Creative

• Philip Isley, of Blanchard, Miller, Lewis & Isley, P.A.

• Reid Tracy, of Wells Fargo Insurance Services

• Lee Whitman, of Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP

“These individuals have all made tremendous financial, volunteer and time contributions to Band Together over the years, and we are glad to welcome these dedicated community and business leaders to our board of directors,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “I look forward to working with them as we continue to positively impact more lives in our community and raise more funds in partnership with deserving local nonprofits.”

The new members will join an existing board of nine business and community leaders. Responsibilities of board members include but are not limited to the following: a three-year term, voting on important issues, committee involvement, recruiting and fundraising.

With the success of their 2012 concert, Band Together has donated more than $2.1 million to local nonprofits since its inception in 2001. The 2012 Band Together event helped raise $566,000 for Urban Ministries of Wake County. Next year, Band Together hopes to raise more than $850,000 for the Band Together partnership with Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.

Past nonprofit partners have included Alliance Medical Ministry, StepUP Ministry, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, SAFEChild, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and more.

The board is in the process of choosing its 2014 charity recipient, which will be determined at a final board meeting on Oct. 24. Clinard, Isley, Tracy and Whitman will all have voting privileges at that meeting.
