Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced its volunteer leadership team for the 2016 partnership year with Kidznotes. Christina Coffey, Bo Heath and Cari Swann will serve as event co-chairs in the year-long lead up to its annual event that has produced as much as $2 million in net proceeds for the community.

Kidznotes changes the life trajectory of underserved K-12 students through orchestral training, and the 2016 Band Together and Kidznotes partnership goal seeks to raise $1 million. Proceeds raised during the 2016 partnership year will be used to expand the number of students served by Kidznotes in Durham and Raleigh.

Coffey, Heath and Swann will lead a team of hundreds of volunteers handling all aspects of the event from fundraising and marketing to VIP experience, silent auction, ticketing and more. All three event chairs are long-serving Band Together volunteers.

“Our leadership pipeline continues to provide the best and brightest individuals in our community to serve as Band Together leaders,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “Having worked alongside Christina, Bo and Cari for several years, I could not be more impressed or grateful that they have agreed to serve on a larger stage.”

Christina Coffey, vice president of retail services with CBRE Raleigh, has been a commercial real estate broker in the Triangle market for over 13 years. She specializes in shopping centers, assisting local and national clients with their retail needs. A native of Statesville, North Carolina and graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Coffey has served on the Band Together steering committee, nonprofit selection committee, after-work social committee and the VIP committee.

Bo Heath is senior vice president and partner at McGuireWoods Consulting and McGuireWoods LLP, and has been with the company for six years. A native of Clinton, North Carolina, Heath attended North Carolina State University and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Campbell Law School at Campbell University. He has volunteered with Band Together for five years and been involved in various roles, such as layout and logistics, nonprofit partner selection and as VIP committee co-chair.

Cari Swann is the manager of forecasting and analytics at First Citizens Bank, where she has worked for almost six years. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Swann is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has called Raleigh her home for the last seven years. She has been a volunteer since attending her first Band Together Main Event featuring Third Eye Blind in 2011, and has since been actively involved with the organization. Since 2011, she has co-chaired the volunteer committee, helping place volunteers in their ideal roles with Band Together.

“Band Together is committed to offering motivated individuals in our community a chance to lend a hand, make a difference and grow leadership skills,” said Strickland. “This team of leaders has risen through the ranks and we are excited to see where their leadership takes our organization.”
