Carolina Publishing & Advertising Corp. Promotes Two Employees and Looks Forward to the Future
(Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA: May 15, 2012) Carolina Publishing & Advertising Corp. proudly announces the promotions of Melanie Ridlon and Sarah Donnell. Ridlon will now assume the responsibilities of Marketing & Administrative Manager, and Donnell will take on the role of Public Relations & Marketing Manager.
After joining the company in November 2011, Ridlon and Donnell lost no time in diving into the challenges associated with a multifaceted business. Donnell will now lead outreach and promotion in the company’s well-known Mom, Dad and Baby division, while Ridlon will act as head of development, marketing and operations in the quickly growing King Carabiner division. The corporation’s Mom, Dad and Baby division is famous for its Mommy Hook stroller assistant, while its King Carabiner offers carabiners in a variety of SKUs.
"Sarah Donnell and Melanie Ridlon are two of the most dedicated, competent, and talented employees I've ever had working for my company," says David Abels, president of Carolina Publishing & Advertising Corp. "Both women have added so much to the company and to the enjoyment of our office setting. They are both very lucky finds for me. They more than deserve these promotions, and I am happy to do it for them."
A graduate of Syracuse University and a Los Angeles native, Ridlon is an award-winning professional with expertise in leading and organizing systems, strategies and creative campaigns. Her extensive experience as a lifestyle manager, television producer, and creative director in corporate settings brings an ideal combination of leadership, detail-oriented innovation and big-picture perspective to the company.
Originally from North Carolina, Donnell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who recently returned to the Triangle after working in the New York City arts scene for several years. While providing media relations and writing services for a diverse number of clients—including theater groups, fine art galleries, motorcycle parts manufacturers, international events, and French pastry chefs—Donnell has cultivated a knack for PR in niche markets. Connecting retailers and families worldwide to Mom, Dad and Baby’s products—especially the ever-popular Mommy Hook—proves to be right in her wheelhouse.
Carolina Publishing & Advertising Corp. was founded and originally incorporated under a different name in Florida in 1993 by David Abels. The company at that time provided advertising, public relations, marketing, and technical writing services for small- and medium-sized corporate clients in South Florida.
When Abels moved to North Carolina in 1994, the company was reincorporated under its present name. In 2006, Abels started the Mom, Dad and Baby division of the company, capitalizing on the success of The Mommy Hook, and then in 2011, initiated the company's King Carabiner division.
Abels has a BA in Accounting & Information Systems from Queens College-CUNY and an MA in Journalism from the University of Maryland. His 30-year career in business includes managerial and executive positions in accounting, information systems, public relations, advertising, marketing, and sales. Abels considers himself a serial entrepreneur with two new business projects in development and potentially financed.
