Cary Family Dental will host its fourth annual Dentistry From The Heart event on Sat., April 18 at its office located at 1149 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary. Adults 18 and older with a valid ID can receive a free extraction, filling or cleaning from a team of 10 dentists, along with hygienists, dental assistants and volunteers who are all donating their time.

Patients are asked to arrive early, as the event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 100 patients are guaranteed to be seen. Event registration will begin at 7 a.m., and patients will be seen through 5 p.m. Patients are also encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring chairs, water, snacks, etc., as they wait outside until their turn.

Free t-shirts and toothbrushes will be distributed to the first 200 patients in line. Music and refreshments will also be provided.

Over the first three years of this daylong local event, Dr. Allan Acton and the staff of Cary Family Dental have provided free dental services to more than 500 adults.

“For the most part, the Affordable Care Act does not include dental care, so there are still tens of thousands of adults in our area who lack dental insurance,” said Dr. Acton. “Through this annual Dentistry From The Heart event, we are able to give back to the community and serve those in need.”
