Team Reeb and Team TrySports are joining forces to host a charity bike event that will support 24 Hours of Booty, Inc. The inaugural Char-Heel Classic will take place on Saturday, May 11 at TrySports SouthPark located at 721 Governor Morrison Street in Charlotte (28211).

The inaugural Char-Heel Classic is a charity bike event for the entire family. It offers 41-mile and 22-mile routes and a 5-mile Family Fund Ride that start and end at TrySports SouthPark and go through some of Charlotte’s most scenic areas. The 41- and 22-mile rides begin at 8:30AM and the 5-mile ride begins at 10:00AM.

“Some of our team members have participated in several group rides across the state and always thought it would be great to try and put a Spring ride together for 24 Hours of Booty,” said David Faulkner, captain of Team Reeb. “Given TrySports’ location, vendors and experience, it made perfect sense to join forces with them as supporters of the event.”

Getting its name "CHAR = Charlotte and HEEL = Tar-Heel for the "Tar-Heel" state (not the team), the Char-Heel Classic is a full supported ride with rest stops, route markings, SAG and mechanical support.

Registration is $30 per person for the 41-mile and 22-mile rides and $10 per person for the 5-mile Family Fun Ride. Youth under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Each registrant is automatically entered in a raffle to win a Pinarello Bike* (*must be present to win). JJ’s Red Hots will be serving hot dogs on the course and hosting an after-party on May 11 at 6:00PM. Space is limited to 150 riders. For more information and to register, visit www.charheel.com. Follow the event on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/charheel.

In addition to both teams coming together for this ride, they are also involving several Charlotte-area businesses including: Good Bottle Co., JJ’s Red Hots, Giordana, PowerIce, Olde Meck Brewery and Eleven Mass Media.

“Team Reeb is made up of some amazing people who have done some pretty awesome things to raise money for 24 Hours of Booty in the past, so when they asked us to partner with them on this event we jumped at the chance,” said Lauren Marsh Burns, manger of TrySports South Park. “Combining their talents and our resources we knew it would be a winning combination. Because many of the Team Reeb members are such great customers and ambassadors for TrySports, it makes these two separate teams like one big family working toward the same goal.”

Adds Team Reeb member and Char-Heel Classic organizer Michael Hernandez, “Together, teams can achieve so much more by combining their time, talent and treasure. In the end, any funds we raise will go to the same place. Hopefully, it's the shared experience of the journey that will inspire other teams to work together during the year.”
