The National Association of Realtors® has announced that Nancy Braun, a Realtor® from Charlotte, NC, has become a Crystal R investor in the Realtors® Political Action Committee. RPAC is a national bipartisan grassroots-based political advocacy organization that works to protect the real estate industry and the dream of homeownership for North and South Carolina residents and across the country.
Braun has supported RPAC for six years and has been a member of the National Association of Realtors® since 1996. Braun, a graduate of Cornell University and SUNY Buffalo Law School, is a Certified Member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and FORTUNE ranked Showcase among the fastest-growing inner city businesses in the U.S. for the 2014 Inner City 100. Nancy also won the 2014 Charlotte Business Journal Woman in Business award, City of Charlotte Crowns of Enterprise Award, and was a finalist for Charlotte Athena Leadership Award. In April 2017, Nancy was appointed Advisory Council Chairperson for the Federation of REO Certified Experts (FORCE). She is also a graduate of Charlotte Regional Realtors® Association’s Leadership Academy and the Wharton School of Business’ Executive Negotiation workshop (awarded a full paid scholarship from WBENC), and 2016 Tuck – WBENC Executive Program. Braun live in Charlotte with her husband and two children. She is also a passionate supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte, and is involved in several organizations representing animal rights.
“My passion for education and industry excellence has led me to participate on several real estate boards to assist in improving industry ethics, guidelines and policies. I am a proud investor in RPAC because it affords all of us in the real estate profession, and beyond, the opportunity to be change-makers and not merely participants in its integrity, processes and future,” said Braun
Since 1969, RPAC has promoted the election of pro-real estate candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is to elect officials who understand and support the interests of real estate professionals and their home buying, selling and investing clients. RPAC uses its resources to seek to elect candidates that understand and support real estate, and to develop public policies that allow consumers to own homes and build their communities through commercial investment. Braun’s investment will be applied to supporting homeownership, commercial real estate transactions, and the very future of the real estate industry.
Current Realtor® priorities include working to preserve the Mortgage Interest Deduction and preventing the use of guarantee fees charged on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac-backed loans to fund non-housing programs, which serves as a tax on consumers and prevents more qualified borrowers from becoming actual homeowners.
The National Association of Realtors®, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.2 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
