The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) will be hosting a blood drive as part of the Claire’s Army and Poyner Spruill LLP “Pancake Breakfast & Blood Drive” on Saturday, June 13.

The Blood Drive portion will be 8:00AM-Noon and the Pancake Breakfast will be 7:30-10:30AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church located at 3115 Providence Road in Charlotte (28211). The Breakfast is $8 person and $5 for children ages 3-10.

The event is being held in memory of Claire Ratliff who was diagnosed with cancer on Aug. 30, 2009 – the day she was born – and passed away on Jan. 17, 2012. During her battle against neuroblastoma, Claire received more than 75 blood and platelet transfusions. Her parents, Emily and Kevin Ratliff, started Claire’s Army to provide support for families fighting childhood cancer. Kevin Ratliff is a loyal CBCC blood donor and is hosting the blood drive to give back to the community and help other local patients.
